Farm Eats

Hey Y’all! 
I enjoyed posting our weekly menu’s so much during our January Whole 30 I’ve decided to keep at it – lord knows I’m planning either way so I might as well share with you! 
Here’s what’s cooking this week on the farm – 
Let’s start with meal prep, here’s what I’m making this morning to make life a bit easier during the work week – 
In addition to sharing our weekly menu, each week I’ll feature a quick meal prep recipe. This week I’m sharing my recipe for Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs; a salad staple for The Farmer & I! 
Here’s What You’ll Need:
12 Organic Cage-Free Eggs
1/2 TBSP Baking Soda
Let’s Get Started:
1. Carefully place your eggs into a large pot & fill with water until you’re about an inch above the eggs. 
2. Next, add in your baking soda – this is our secret ingredient y’all!!
  • This will make peeling your eggs later easy peasy!
3. Turn on your burner to high & bring the water to a rolling boil.
4. As SOON as you see the water at a rolling boil, TURN OFF THE HEAT. 
5. Cover and set a timer for 10 minutes. 
6. I’ve found that 10 minutes will get you perfectly cooked hard boiled eggs; if you like yours a little more on the “soft-boiled” side, I would recommend setting your timer for 6 minutes instead of 10. 
7. Once your timer is up, pour out the hot water & run your eggs under COLD water for a few minutes.
8. Once the eggs are cool to the touch, lay them out on a dish towel to continue to cool & dry.
9. That’s it – your perfect hard boiled eggs are ready to enjoy however you’d like & will last for about a week or so in the fridge. Of course, it helps if they look CUTE AF on a little ceramic tray like this one 🙂

  • Lunch: Salad 
  • Dinner: Tandoori Chicken -quickly becoming a house favorite! 
Thursday 
  • Brekkie: Overnight Oatmeal
  • Lunch: Salad 
  • Dinner: Spaghetti Bolognese – recipe coming soon! 
Friday 
  • Brekkie: Chia Pudding 
  • Lunch: Salad 
  • Dinner: Beef Noodle Stir Fry 
Saturday 
  • Brekkie: Egg Bake 
  • Lunch: Salad 
  • Dinner: PIZZA! 
Well, there you have it – another week is officially in the books as they say! Here on the farm we know we’ve got AT LEAST six more weeks of winter ahead, but we’re settled in to “hibernation mode” and quite enjoying our hearty winter fare, cocktails & evenings by the fire. Until next time…
